San Jose Vice mayor Trixie Johnson has proposed a number of new city 
ordinances designed to harrass gun owners and firearms dealers.  Among 
these proposals is ammunition registration and a ban on retail gun 
stores within an unspecified distance of public parks, churches, day 
care centers, etc.  The proposals have been scheduled to be discussed 
at 2:30pm in the afternoon session of the city council meeting of 
Tuesday, August 15th.

The city council meets twice on August 15th. Once beginning at 1:30pm 
and again at 7:00pm that evening.  An evening session will allow more 
concerned citizens to have their say.  Please call Trixie Johnson's 
office and/or you city councilman to request that the agenda item be 
moved to an evening session.
