Rep Ron Hood (HD-57) from Ohio has introduced HB 485.  GOA, OCDC,
Mahoning Valley Patriots, Lorain County Firearms Defense Coalition, PRO,
and as I have been told OGC are backing it.  This is Vermont carry.

Stay alive with 485 is one motto being used by the real right to carry
forces backing Rep Hood.  Ron beat an NRA Democrat last year.

Dr. Gratia Hupp is coming to testify in support of HB 485.  She is being
sponsored by the "real right to carry coalition."  For more information
and a copy of GOA's latest FAX alerts to Ohio call 703-321-8585.  Ask
for me.

Progress is being made for real right to carry in several states.  In
Oklahoma a GOA backed Vermont-style amendment got 43 votes out of 101.
We need to change 8 votes in the OK House.  In the Senate, Stratton
Taylor, Sen. Pres., used parliamentary tricks to block Sen. Carol
Martin's attempt to offer the Vermont-style amendment in that body.
Carol Martin beat an NRA backed candidate last year.

Vermont-style has been offered or introduced in AL and CO. expect
action in other states next year.

If you don't ask for what you want, you end up with less than you can
get.  Like the horrible government tax and permission to carry bill in
Texas. GOA will continue to oppose the use of so-called right to carry
legislation as Christmas Trees for anti-gun provisions like:
    Mandatory Government Controlled and Dictated Training
    Centralized registration of gun owners
    No Safety Zones
    Excessive Fees
    Government Enforced Instructor Cartels
