Defense of self, community, and nation are the most fundamental human rights. Firearms are the most effective and directed means of that defense. When ordinary people are made defenseless as in Hitler's Germany, Stalin's Russia, Mao's China, Castro's Cuba, and countless other times and places, it is the people who suffer the worst predation by governments and others with access to the means of force. As history has repeatedly proven, it is morally, ethically and practically wrong to strip effective self- defense from the people. The pacifist (and totalitarian) dream of disarming people has lead to and continues to lead to genocide. Recent examples include the disparity of force enjoyed by former Soviet clients is Serbia, Ethiopia, Cambodia, Rawanda, etc. How many millions must be murdered before people are allowed to defend themselves?
