FYI, results of a portion of the latest WSJ/NBC poll released June 9, 1995:

By 45% to 28%, Americans have a negative view of the NRA.

56% think the NRA has too much political influence; 23% think it is about
right.

58% concerned government won't do enough to regulate access to firearms,
while 35% worry it will go too far in restricting the right to own guns.

By 78% to 18%, the public favors keeping ban on assault weapons.
In households that own a handgun, two out of three back keeping the ban.

By three to one, Americans think it is more important to hold hearings on
militia groups than on Waco.
