Long Beach Elks Lodge, near LB Airport. DON'T MISS IT! As everyone knows, David Roberti, corrupt criminal-coddling socialist, former President of the California Senate, and co-author of the unconstitutional, oppressive and counterproductive "assault weapon" ban, lost his bid for State Treasurer and announced his retirement from politics. (YES!) He credited his defeat to the fact that CAC's recall drained his cash, dried up his funding sources, and tied him up in the 20th Senate District when he should have been campaigning statewide ... So unlike Mike Roos, who we also nailed, Roberti gave us credit. Our credibility as a persistent, focused, innovative grassroots political force is now established. Political journals refer to us as "CAC" and everyone knows what that means: PAIN. We sent a message to legislators: Like sunlight through a magnifying glass, we focus diffused or limited grassroots resources onto a single objective, holding the focus until the objective is achieved. No legislator is immune, and no one wants to become the primary objective. It's not worth it. In December, after Roberti retires, your "California Political Pig Hunting Tags" will be stamped "FILLED" and returned. (Merry X-Mas!) Our campaigns helped stop a tidal wave of unconstitutional legislation in California, which will also help us nationally. We must keep up the pressure to stop and reverse such laws. Otherwise the benefit of Roberti's defeat will ultimately be diminished. So we're working with several other groups on a new project for the November election: Assemblyman Bob Epple. He's an arrogant, patronizing politician who lies to his constituents, he's part of Willie Brown's corrupt tax-and-spend political machine, and he frequently violates his oath to uphold the Constitution. He also kicked sand in the faces of California crime victims. You can help defeat Epple, celebrate our victory over Roberti and have fun all at the same time by attending the first annual Roberti Memorial Dinner and PIG roast on October 7, 1994 at the Long Beach Elks Lodge near the Long Beach Airport. Tickets are $100, proceeds will go to defeat Epple. It's well worth every penny. Make checks out to the California Opportunity Society, 4246 2nd Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95817. State law requires us to ask you to tell us your occupation & employer. For more details, call 310-437-3373 or 916-361-3109. There's nothing like the smell of charred pork in the morning...
