From: Jeff Chan To: The San Francisco Chronicle Subject: Dictator Gray Davis? Date: Wed, 01 Mar 2000 13:07:43 -0800 [exclusively to Chronicle] Dear Editor, Gray Davis yesterday warned judges he appoints to "reflect the views I've expressed" or "they should resign". This, the same Davis who last year told the Chronicle that the Legislature's "job is to implement my vision." No matter how benevolent his intentions, Davis should not expect other branches of government to obediently bow to his will. Am I the only one who is disappointed and dismayed that our Governor is apparently unclear on the concepts of separation of powers and checks and balances which are so vital to our system of government? Or are we perhaps seeing character flaws emerging when someone undeserving gains our trust and receives our collective power?
